Full Time Diploma Course
The
Full Time Diploma (and the Part Time version) is awarded by Shanghai
Acupuncture College Ireland in partnership with the Sixth Medical
College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Shanghai and its affiliated
Teaching Hospital. The Full Time Diploma Course is a two year intensive
programme providing a foundation study in the key aspects of
Acupuncture theory and practice and then moving forward to an in-depth
study of key aspects of the discipline. The programme is delivered
through expert lectures and workshops involving continuous
demonstration and with opportunities for clinical observation.
Class
sizes are small in order to maximise the opportunity for active
participation and the promotion of a continuous dialogue between
Professors and students.
Assessment is
carried out by means of term papers, session examinations in June of
each year and marks awarded for participation in class and clinical
practice sessions. The programme is supported by a dedicated website
with extensive learning resources. An innovative feature is the use of
moderated study groups to support group and individual learning .
As
this is an intensive programme students are advised that the teaching
sessions together with self directed learning and other requirements
represent a full time commitment.
The next term will start in September 2010.
Successful
graduates of the two year full time Diploma programme(or its part time
equivalent) are eligible for entry to the add -on one year full time
degree or the two year part time degree which will be offered by
Shanghai Acupuncture College Ireland in partnership with The Sixth
Medical College of TCM in Shanghai.
Students
who have completed appropriate studies at a recognised college may be
eligible for advanced entry into year two of the full time Diploma.
