CONTINUOUS PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
Acupuncturists are required to ensure that they keep up to date with the development in their field. These developments may vary from regulations and laws to treatments techniques and methods.
There are two different ways of approaching your continuing professional development during your career, informal learning, things that you can arrange yourself and formal learning. Informal learning covers things like boarding your knowledge through experience, relevant books and other materials. Formal learning covers additional courses, seminars, workshops and events. Acupuncturists are encouraged to attend as many workshops as possible, these workshops may be conduct by the College, Association or other recognised bodies.
Acupuncturists
Acupuncturists are permitted to advertise their services as a practitioner by referring to the ability to treat conditions. In this instance the World Health Organisation’ s list of conditions found to be effectively treated with Acupuncture could be referred to. At no time can an Acupuncturist, whether in advertisement, literature, and notepaper or verbally suggest that any condition can be cured. At no time are Acupuncturists and Students permitted to make any misleading claims regarding any aspects of their practice of TCM in either advertising or their literature. This not only refers to their treatments, their qualifications, and their competence.
