High Level Chinese Delegation visits Dublin to discuss potential for Traditional Chinese Medicine in Ireland
Minister Prof Ji Wei Ping, Chief of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Governing Body of Shanghai will
lead a top level delegation to Dublin on 20th and 21st of November 2008 as part of a European
evaluation mission taking in three countries.
In Dublin, the delegation will meet with a range of interests including Enterprise Ireland to outline
official Chinese plans in relation to establishing international clinics and centres of excellence
for the teaching of traditional Chinese Medicine including acupuncture, tuina and herbal medicine disciplines.
They will also visit the Shanghai Acupuncture College Ireland which alrea dy has a teaching programme in Dublin offering a full and part-time Diploma in association with the Shanghai 6th Hospital which is affiliated to Jiao Tong University. The programme faculty in Dublin includes four Chinese Professors who fly in to assist delivery.
Graduates of the Dublin Diploma have already had the opportunity to experience clinical internship in Shanghai.
The College is also in advanced discussions regarding a Degree level qualification to be delivered in Dublin by world class specialists in Traditional Chinese Medicine.

The visiting group with interpreters will be available to give a press briefing in the Westin
hotel at 11am on Thursday 20th November.
